Caroline Missoffe and Anne Poniatowski, the great grand-daughters of the founder, today manage a domain that covers three hundred hectares, with 57 hectares of vineyard and 28 hectares of olive trees.
Located at the foot of the legendary village Les Baux de Provence, on the southern flank of the Alpilles and in the shelter of their rocky profile, the wines benefit from a unique terroir and a special microclimate.
On well-drained soil made up of rocky clay-limestone spree from the disintegration of rock specific to this part of the Alpilles, the vines blend in harmonious balance with the surrounding scrubland.
The persistent “mistral” wind provides fresh conditions and an exchange of aromas.
For centuries, the valley of Les Baux-de-Provence has been producing exceptional olive oil. In 1997, it gained the Protected Designation of Origin certification which helped it to gain international renown. Our extra virgin quality olive oil is obtained directly from olives and solely by mechanical means and cold extraction. This process is comparable to that of obtaining pure fruit juice. We simply extract the oil without any transformation nor additives.
Our oils are prepared from several varieties of olives, which lend them a certain particular quality.
It is with this olive oil we create our skin care range “Clos des Oliviers”.
